One site · many delivery systems

What actually makes a website fast?

The same static artifact is being served from shared Ryzen hosting, two cloud VPS sizes, a Dell OptiPlex at home and several global edge platforms.

The rules

A fairer host-off

Performance results only mean something when the payload and test method remain fixed.

01

Identical bytes

Files are copied from one release artifact and verified by SHA-256 before each mirror is tested.

02

Cold and warm

Cold-cache requests expose origin behaviour. Warm runs show what visitors normally receive.

03

Several locations

Median and p75 results across regions matter more than one unusually flattering Lighthouse run.
